About Shift Happens Driving Academy
Shift Happens is a Washington State licensed driver training school serving teens and adults in Seattle. We believe learning to drive should feel supportive and clear, not pressured or rushed.

This school was built for students that other schools sometimes struggle to reach. Anxious learners, neurodivergent students, people who've been told they ask too many questions. Queer and trans students will find a space here where they don't have to explain themselves before they can learn.
Getting something wrong here is how you learn not to get it wrong on the road. No judgment, no embarrassment. Just the space to figure it out before it matters.
A real educator. Not just a driving instructor.
Jo holds a BA in Education with over ten years of classroom teaching experience. That background shapes everything about how they teach: noticing when something isn't landing, adjusting on the fly, and making sure students actually understand before moving on.
The goal was never just helping people pass a test. It's building the judgment and confidence to drive safely for the rest of their lives.
