Before you can enroll, your teen needs a WDL number. This comes from pre-applying for their Washington State learner permit through the Department of Licensing.

The pre-application is quick, done online, and gives you the WDL number you'll need for enrollment. Your teen doesn't need to physically visit the DOL yet, that happens later when they get their physical permit (required before behind-the-wheel lessons).
